Friends have been asking me what is different and typical for or just for Ljubljana, that I like. Probably there are few things typical but even more special things,that even tho one might have encounter them in other parts of the world, can not stop noticing they fit in perfectly also in Slovenia.
To start, I would say THE GARDENS, the vegetables and flowers gardens, can be seen all over Ljubljana, in residential areas,on fields, by side of the river etc.
Slovenians love gardening! mostly for themselves,what they will also eat later and not so much to be sold. People like to trade their garden products with what others have got, in this way is a balance and less expenses. Going to the garden can be very easily addictive as is a way of socializing, enjoying a pivo while the tomatoes grow 🙂
Some might not have the time or space so they transform their balconies in growing gardens. And sometimes you will see buildings that have such hallways:. Slovenians can get inventive where to grow their vegetables: 😀
The respect for nature goes naturally towards animals, most Slovenians that I’ve meet love animals and in special cats 🙂 I still find it cute when I see a balcony with a special leader made for the cat to return home or the dogs toilet in Tivoli Park or the special toilet containers: .Even when I see a Sister Witch parking her auto right: ! 😉
There are playgrounds for kids in every neighborhood of Ljubljana some of them so secluded that can become perfect reading places
As for food department I would have to chose 3 things that I simply adore, to use and drink:
– Zelina voda – the water from the pickled cabbage, great for cooking and hangovers 😀 , best to buy from The Central Market or Mercator shops:;
– Sirotka – which is nothing else then Whey: , great refresher and protein source.
– Mlekomat – the vending machine for milk, which can be found in every neighborhood. providing at every hour a quite tasty fresh milk.
Something else that I find special is the walking ring around Ljubljana, 34 km of pathway around entire city that, this days,Slovenians are using it for walks and sports. More about POT read here 🙂 .
The town’s graffiti are also something that I like seeing, it brings the colour of life where you less expect
I guess there are lots of things I like, that I consider to be special placed in Ljubljana and close to my heart, so I will keep this blog open for updates 😀
I love the things you choose to focus on: not something a two-day visitor like me would ever notice. I hope that over the years I will come to know Warsaw a bit like this, by living there three months of the year.

I think, if you focus on things that first get your attention in the city you love(Warsaw), you can capture the soul of the city. Will be watching over your adventures in Warsaw from now:)Lovely to meet you XX
