Ljubljana and me

Glimpses, photos & experiences of a foreigner living in Slovenia, Ljubljana

Eco festival 2013

For the last days Slovenia’s been boiling of high temperatures , and my refuge was the forest of Opatje Selo, part of Goriška region, spectacular area of Slovenia because of its climate and sights .

2013-07-27 12.57.07 2013-07-27 17.12.48 – this photos are taken in Kozana, part of Goriška Brda, about 1 h drive away from the festival.

For 3 days, people all over the world met for a dance festival – the Eco festival, while camping deep inside the woods. It was my first experience as a camper, ever !  I was proud of how fast our tent stood up and not even once felt down on us! And same was available for my friend , that soon became an expert in camping gadgets2013-07-26 14.50.25 ! All the camping equipment costed us less then one night out in Ljubljana , the offers in Slovenian shops did not disappoint.

In a matter of hours, entire forest became populated with small tents and very friendly people, that I miss hearing around me now, like a very friendly group from Maribor, that introduced us to this drink,2013-07-26 15.13.50 to which we send our Živjo, if they will read this blog:)

The the camp was organised with 3 pools and water sprinkler that were a delight under such high temperatures, smoothie drinks and water every time you would be thirsty,The best part were the 3 venues playing great music from different DJ’s from all over the world and the nights were reserved for the most famous ones that managed to do a great job to keep us awake and dancing till mornings! 2013-07-27 01.14.41 2013-07-27 01.16.08

In the moments when we were not dancing, we actively participated at searching of a certain individual called Marjan. Everyone was calling out loud for him, screaming his name through the forest. But Marjan did not appear even once.Italians tried calling him Mario but he still didn’t appear. They say he is on his way to the next festival and maybe people from there will find him if they call long enough for him… If not, there will always be Eco next year and we can continue the search;)
