Glimpses, photos & experiences of a foreigner living in Slovenia, Ljubljana
I was invited to a traditional Easter lunch, my host prepared the entire house to await for the Easter bunny and cooked a delicious meal that combined so well, from soup, till ham with fresh horseradish , that cured my endless cold suddenly:)
But what I got ,special from the Easter bunny, was the possibility to discover 3 old old Slovene books that kept me busy for hours ! – Kronika Slovenskih Mest – Chronicle of Slovenian Towns Part I ,from 1931 and Part II, from 1934 and Pesmarica I II ,from 1911.
Pesmarica ,is an old collection of songs, traditional songs, that every Slovene woman had to know how to sing, containing from Ave Maria till …songs to honor the washerwomen, like this one : or songs for little birds:) ,like this one:.
Kronika Slovenskih Mest – Chronicle of Slovenian Cities Part I ,from 1931 and Part II, from 1934 , we’re a delight to get to know a bit more about the history of my new country , even tho I couldn’t enter the mystery of the language, I learned about the history of the place from photos ,designs and graphics that I found surprisingly well made and as well, from interesting commercials .
