Ljubljana and me

Glimpses, photos & experiences of a foreigner living in Slovenia, Ljubljana

Become a child,in Ljubljana

P1070223aaaLjubljana Puppet Theatre was established in 1948 and is located really close to the central square , in close vicinity to the central market and next to the funicular that takes you up to the Castle, in Krekov trg,or just think of Daktari:)is next to the theatre and the beer I heard is very good:)Easy to get to and worth a visit.

I got my ticket from the shop of the theatre, next to the funicular .P1070200aaa P1070201aaathat besides lots of interesting books, magazines, kids books etc also exhibit some of the puppets that made history in the theatre.

The theatre has more stages,in different locations, most of them here, in Krekov trg, today’s play that I went to, was at  Stage Under the Stars, warm made for children to be able to play, when they lose attention P1070209aaaor just take a sit and chill,in the foyerP1070208aaa.

Adults and children, we all entered the play spaceP1070203aaa,made by 3 stages, that we’re made around us. Loved the idea! P1070215aaaP1070211aaa.

What it fallowed was a magic daydream that,me personally, got me dreaming of a fairy tale with princes, kings, samurais, brothers, generals, and CATS!  I laughed,I got scared,I jumped..together with all the kids and parents around at the performance this people put on scene for us! was done with heart and lots of energy and imagination! and believe me,is not easy to keep the attention of about 60 children on you,for about 1 hour… But they made it!  And did I mention, that I don’t know any Slovene language?!(ha ha ha)… It didn’t matter!  I was taken to the age on 6-7 years  in seconds and everything they said I felt it.  Out of respect for the actors, taking photos was not allowed during the play so I will attach the link of the play, for those of you that will wanna see it as well?!:) –  http://www.lgl.si/en/performances/repertory/200-Puss-in-boots

What it got me decided, for my first time, at the puppet theatre in Ljubljana was a play that teaches children about animals, so meeting Le Puss – Le Miau Fyodor was, literally,a dream becoming reality;)  “L&m” meets Le Miau P1070218aaa 😉
