P1070059AAAThe long winter continues in Ljubljana , one of the few sparks of light your eyes can rest on, is The Franciscan Church of Annunciation, that is colored, its red color is symbolic of the Franciscan monastic order, but more is seen as pink-ish:),I call it..Pink Church..

It is located in Prešernov trg – central squareP1070053aaa , with a an entire view over the central squareP1070077aaa ,The famous Triple Bridge of Ljubljana,of PlečnikP1070080aaa and your eyes can see even The Ljubljana Castle,up on the hill P1070078aaa.

Entering the church P107006aaa, you get pleasant surprised by an alive, colored worship place P1070072aaawith the Baroque main altar executed by the sculptor Francesco Robba, P1070073aaa P1070069aaaand the frescos, the original ones being ruined by the cracks in the ceiling caused by the Ljubljana earthquake in 1895, the the new frescoes were painted in 1936 by the Slovene impressionist painter Matej Sternen.P1070073aaa P1070067aaa.

On your way out,in Prešernov trg P1070081aaa the statue of  France Prešeren and his lover, will be waving GoodBye to winter…
